Common questions.

What is the difference between French and patio doors?
French doors swing open like a pair of regular doors. Patio doors slide on a track. French give a wider full opening for one-off events; patio give an everyday low-effort opening that does not steal floor space.
How wide can a bi-fold opening go?
Routinely up to 6m without a structural post in the middle. Beyond that we usually use a corner bi-fold or break it with a fixed glazed panel. We will spec it on the survey.
Can you fit bi-folds onto an existing kitchen extension?
Yes. Most extensions have a wide enough opening to swap a single patio for a 3 or 4-pane bi-fold without rebuilding the lintel. We check on survey before quoting.
Aluminium or uPVC for bi-folds?
Aluminium for bi-folds, almost always. Slimmer frames, more robust hardware, far better track lifespan. uPVC is fine for French and patio, less so for bi-fold sliders.
